Trump supporters have their arguments for no gun control embarrassed with every day that passes. In fact, anti-gun control Congressman Steve Scalise (R-LA) quickly changed his tune about regulations after his own life was put in danger at the hands of a shooter with known mental health struggles. Nevertheless, the GOP and their base seem to care more about pushing back against the argument that there should be more control, than they do about protecting Americans from senseless gun violence. On Saturday, that senseless gun violence became self-inflicted for a Trump and Confederate supporting self-proclaimed patriot. Twenty-three year-old Benjamin Hornberger of Shippensburg, PA was participating in a First Amendment demonstration in Gettysburg, PA when his revolver accidentally went off. Shooting himself in the leg, Hornberger was lucky that a National Park Service officer was nearby and able to apply a tourniquet to stop the bleeding.
